Jane Fonda stars as a tough call girl--the role for which she won her first Academy Award--in this suspenseful and gritty mystery. When small town police detective John Klute (Donald Sutherland) comes to New York to investigate the disappearance of his best friend, his only lead is a letter to prostitute Bree Daniels (Fonda). As these two very different people discover a romantic attraction to each other, Klute realizes Daniels is the murderer's real target.

A Brian De Palma thriller
"Blow Out"
starring
John Travolta, Nancy Allen, John Lithgow,
and Dennis Franz.

This movie captures similar incidents in the plot of the film story, such as political assassanation,
and patriotism, that imitates History.
The John Travota character Jack Terry , a master audio technician is out one night recording ambient sounds of the night when he unexpectedly hears something through his recording system that leads him to do a further investigation of what he heard.
He is recording near a small lake when he hears a car approaching that suddenly has a tire blow out . The car veers into the water and Jack dives in to help, not noticing a figure dressed in black emerging from underneath the bridge. The figure escapes while Jack tries to rescue the inhabitants of the car.
Underneath the car he sees a man who is dead, but inside of the vehicle he sees a woman (Nancy Allen) still alive, and is able to pull her out of the car and bring her to the surface.
This series of events leads him to discovering what could be a conspiracy that involves him into a complicated plot that involves murder.

Moving on, I would like to switch to a 1985 black comedy called
"After Hours
Directed by Martin Scorsese
starring:
-
Griffin Dunne
THE PLOT
After a boring day at work, Paul Hackett, (Griffin Dunne), a computer data entry worker, strikes up conversation with a stranger named Marcy Franklin in a cafe in New York City. Marcy tells him that she is living with a sculptor named Kiki Bridges, who makes and sells plaster-of-Paris paperweights resembling cream cheese bagels, and leaves him her number.
There are so many comedic sub-plots, hilarity, and twists and turns in this movie that there are too many to describe here......
Just enjoy the trouble that chases him all night.
