This Double album recording is one the Best Rock recordings ever.

Jimi was at his peak when this was recorded with his Jimi Hendrix Experience band

consisting of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. The cut Voodoo Chile (Not Slight Return) version is one of the highlights of this album, as it features this track in the studio as a latenight jam session, with Steve Winwood on organ, Jack Casady on Bass, and about 20 guests in the studio during the live session. This album is full of great tracks that deserve listening.

This recording was the first solo venture by Phil Collins since he left The group Genesis.

the album was recorded in 1980/81 in the UK, and the US. Many of the songs were written concerning a divorce from his wife in 1979, and reached No. 1 in the UK.

All tracks are written by Phil Collins, except where noted

I am listing a couple of relevent songs as a must listen, although this album is full of wonderful music.

"If Leaving Me is Easy", and "In the Air Tonight"are very worthy of listening too however, the entire album is exceptional. To listen on YouTube select the connections below.

The players are: John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Julian "Cannonball" Adderly, Jimmy Cobb,

Paul Chambers, and Wynton Kelley

This recording is a Sony UK pressing on blue vinyl and is a little more expensive, however according to most of the reviews, it is well worth the expense.

Bill Evans, was a major influence on Miles, causing a departure from his early hard bop style in favor of greater experimentation with modal changes in the music for this album. Basing Kind of Blue entirely on modality, he gave each performer an outline and a set of scales that encompassed the parameters of their improvisation and style, and consequently more creative freedom with melodies; Coltrane later expanded on this modal approach in his own solo career.

Kind of Blue is regarded by many critics as Davis's masterpiece, the greatest jazz album ever recorded, and one of the best albums of all time. Its impact on music, including jazz, rock, and classical genres, has led writers to also deem it one of the most influential albums ever made.
